The Princeton, NJ Public library was re-opened in May 2004. This fabulous new building includes many large-scale and small-scale works of art specially commissioned for this library.
'The Art of a New Library' visits each of the 8 artists who created works for the new Princeton library, and they talk about their work, and its connection with the community.
This group of artists include internationally known artists Ik Joong Kang, Robert Barry, and Buzz Spector (along with others) who discuss how their commissioned work fits within the body of their work.
This documentary shines light on the individual artists, but also on the Princeton community itself that has chosen these people to create long-lasting works of art that will be important in their library for generations to come.
